Pakistani people are very interested in politics even if they don’t know the ground realities. Most of the Pakistani people follow political parties just because their forefathers were following that specific party.
A very few people follow the parties on the basis of ideology.
1- Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI)
Pakistan Tehreek Insaf is the most popular political party in pakistan. Most followers of this party are from elite class, educated people and a huge number from overseas Pakistanis.
Imran Khan is the chairman of PTI who has been elected as a prime minister in the 2018 election.
2- Pakistan Muslim League N (PMLN)
Second most popular political party in pakistan and 1st in punjab is PML(N) Pakistan Muslim League N. Presedent of this party is Shehbaz sharif. Most of the followers are uneducated and belong to backward areas of punjab. They have ruled around 30 years in Punjab and federal.
3- Pakistan people’s party (PPP)
In our list Pakistan people’s party is third place. Asif Ali Zardari is president of the party while his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the chairman. Its most famous political party is sindh province, most of its followers are from the backward of sindh which are not only uneducated but are very poor. They ruled for many years in Sindh province. The purpose of their popularity is benazir bhutto and her father zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
4- Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM)
Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan – MQM is the 4th popular party in Pakistan and second in sindh. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui is the leader of the party. Most of the followers of this party are those who are still fighting for sindhi, muhajer issue even after many years of pakistan’s existence.
5- Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is the 5th most popular party in Pakistan which is led by Fazal-ur-Rehman. This party is famous in the north side of pakistan and most followers belong to religious background. They were never able to establish their government in federal.
